Milestones on my journey
Ben Nevis
March 3rd 2012
Before the anniversary date of the accident I was supported by 12 friends to summit the highest mountain in the UK, raising £2000 for the Mountain Rescue Service and Royal National Lifeboat Institution in the process. It was truly a day of all four seasons! I was reported on in several news outlets including the STV news.
Olympic Torch Relay
June 12 2012
I was very privileged to be nominated for and carry the Olympic Flame through Forfar. I am very thankful to all the people who supported me in becoming a Cuture Flame with Coka-Cola. I was invited to take part in the Hyde Park celebrations concert in London where I was interviewed by Sir Johnathan Edwards on the big screen in front of 60,000 people!
Swedish Triathlon
Tjorn, September 2012
What can you say when someone invites you to 3 days in Sweden, all expenses paid. All I had to do was cycle 90km as part of a triathlon team sponsored by prosthetic leg manufacturer Ossur! Easier said than done but we completed it and have the medals to prove it!
Held the Commonwealth Baton
July 6th 2014
I had the privilege of carrying the Queens Commonwealth Games Baton in Aberfoyle where I had the lucky slot before lunchtime, which meant I was able to hold the baton and engage with the public for 45 mins in addition to my run with it! During this time I was Interviewed by STV news and took part in a little Highland dancing with a pipe band as well as posing for many photographs with people!
